Selvakumar,
The 1960 1 Rupee is actually a pattern coin,just like the extremely rare 1949 Dominion of India pattern coin series.

Todywalla's had one of the 1960 1 Rupee in their auction nearly 2 or 3 years ago.

The 1962 1 Rupee is a coin that eludes me so far.

Independence. Price of the few coins in the list already went above 1
lakh. We can't even imagine of buying those coins for our collection. We
can buy atleast other rare coins for few thousands.

1. 2004 1 rupee (Plus symbol)

2. 2004 2 rupee (National Integration)

Pl. inform me why these coins are rare one, when these coins of the following years

i.e. 2005 onwards are easily available in the market(specifically 2 rupee coin)
