About Me
I've been collecting coins for most of my life. About a year ago, I started writing about coins on Coin Update and Mint News Blog. This has helped me connect with a lot of other coin collectors with similar interests. I created Coin Network to try to take things to the next level.

I hope that Coin Network can become an exciting and educational destination for all coin collectors. I am grateful to everyone who has joined the network and all of their contributions so far.
About My Coin Collection
I collect almost exclusively US Coins. I have been working on assembling high grade sets of Peace Dollars and Kennedy Halves.

No Solicitation on Coin Network Forums, Blogs, or Videos

From this point onward, promotion of commercial websites, services, or business opportunities will not be allowed in the Coin Network Forum, Blogs, or Videos sections.

Up until now, things have been left pretty much open, but lately there have been far too many new members coming to Coin Network and trying to use the site to pitch their products or services. This is disrupting the experience of members who come here to discuss coins and network with other collectors.

Dutch 5 Euro - 400 Years Netherlands - Manhattan

I wanted to share a recent addition to my collection. It's a 5 Euro commemorative coin issued by the Royal Dutch Mint to mark 400 years of ties between the Netherlands and Manhattan. Henry Hudson had first set foot on the island in 1609 while exploring for the Dutch East India Company.

Both sides of the coin feature detailed ariel maps of Manhattan. The obverse of the coin features a view of Manhattan in 2009 based on images from… Continue

Glad to see you are into Kennedy Halfs also. I had to sell one set of Kennedy's but I will never sell the full set with the proofs and silver. The only thing I cannot make up my mind is to start to send the coins in for grading as I first started collecting coins in the late 50's early 60's when you still could get alot of good coins in your change. I still like to take out my Dansco's and look at the coins. At this time it does not feel right looking at a coin that has been encapsulated by a TPG. I guess to each his own. I do have quite a few coins incapsulated by TPG. I was wondering how you feel about coins in albums or by TPG. I do have one that I really want to send in it's the proof .50 cent clad baby eagles that has a dye crack around 3:30 that shows up real good through my loupe. I will take any advise you can share as I will read Coin Network Updates without fail. Thats about enough of you time have a great Sunday and an even better Holiday Season. Charlie

Thank you for the warm welcome! I am an avid reader of both of your blogs, and I think you've hit solid gold with this Coin Network project! The software is world-class, the presentation is beautiful, and as far as I know, there's nothing like this anywhere for collectors. I wish you the best of success with Coin Network!

Trying to collect a complete set of Peace dollars is no easy chore. As I need still need a 1928 in at least AU-55 and I have yet to find the price I am willing to pay. $150...
