About Me
I've been collecting coins for most of my life. About a year ago, I started writing about coins on Coin Update and Mint News Blog. This has helped me connect with a lot of other coin collectors with similar interests. I created Coin Network to try to take things to the next level.

I hope that Coin Network can become an exciting and educational destination for all coin collectors. I am grateful to everyone who has joined the network and all of their contributions so far.
About My Coin Collection
I collect almost exclusively US Coins. I have been working on assembling high grade sets of Peace Dollars and Kennedy Halves.

No Solicitation on Coin Network Forums, Blogs, or Videos

From this point onward, promotion of commercial websites, services, or business opportunities will not be allowed in the Coin Network Forum, Blogs, or Videos sections.

Up until now, things have been left pretty much open, but lately there have been far too many new members coming to Coin Network and trying to use the site to pitch their products or services. This is disrupting the experience of members who come here to discuss coins and network with other collectors.

If someone starts a discus… Continue

Dutch 5 Euro - 400 Years Netherlands - Manhattan

I wanted to share a recent addition to my collection. It's a 5 Euro commemorative coin issued by the Royal Dutch Mint to mark 400 years of ties between the Netherlands and Manhattan. Henry Hudson had first set foot on the island in 1609 while exploring for the Dutch East India Company.

Hello !!

I am sure that Coin Network will bring many special-interest collectors and hobbyists together. I am a collector, hobbyist, and coin-student based in India.

Indian coins are gradually becoming a rage worldwide. To know more about them, I request you to please join Indian Coins group at

http://www.coinnetwork.com/group/indiancoins

Help us to popularize Indian Coins collection, study and information-dissemination. This can be done if a very large number of friends are brought to this group for sharing of information about Indian Coins.

I am sure that you will help in this venture

Very Cordially,

Shastri JC Philip

Michael, I could not find an appropriate place to address this so have put here, may we please have a function for group creators to be able to welcome new members. I like to welcome new members to the group and if I were to receive a notification at the time they joined then I can quickly make them feel welcome. A couple of new members have joined in the past and I only found out when I logged on which at that time was (I think for me too long) between their joining and my welcoming them. Sorry for the bother but I thought if a group creator may have this opportunity to be notified then they may choose to welcome or not. I prefer to have that opportunity. With many thanks if that could be arranged/or if it does exist would appreciate an email to tell me how to activate the feature. Again thank you, Kindest regards Karyn

A great place that shows democracy is alive and well in the coin world.I look forward to many discussions about the millions of topics coins can bring.I hope to bring my experience and knowledge here to only make my experience and knowledge grow. The one thing any coin collector should always claim is the fact that you can never know it all.But to always be open to discussion to form your own opinion that makes you happy to be a collector and more knowledgeable as a result.Never be afraid to admit your wrong and never be afraid to stand up for your opinion.

Hi. No need to apologize for the belated welcome… especially how late I am in replying back. Lol

Coin Network is a valuable site. It’s a great place to learn more about the hobby and to share info. Is this site the creation of one person or a group of folks?

Another question I have is… what is the advantage to becoming “friends” on the site… does it allow each person to contact one another directly… meaning info like our email address might be given to the other person?

Thanks.

Dave
