Yiğit Altay, who was born in Ankara in 1988, has started his education at Fatih Primary School. He took guitar and violin lessons at the beginning years at Yıldırım Beyazıt Anatolian High School. In his second year in the high school, he has started to collect coins. He has got the “coin collector” certificate from Ankara Independence Wars and Republic Museum and became the youngest ancient coin collector working with a museum in Turkey. At 2006 summer he has started to take photographs and to practice to understand it. Yiğit Altay, who has keep going his works about the photography in the “Bilkent Koza” magazine and Gazi University Seventh Art Society, is studying at Department of Chemistry in Bilkent University with scholarship now.

Coins of the Sikh Empire used Vikrami Sambat dating system and some of the Silver rupees of Amritsar mint had on them Hindu symbols of Trishul, Nagari Om, Shiv, Ram and so on. The inscription was in the Farsi text with persion numerals.
