Tony,
Did you know that Kelantan & Kedah have both had their own coin issues in recent years?

Kelantan issued gold in both AH1427 (2006) in 1/4,1/2,& 1 Dinar denominations,& a 2 Dinars in 2007 for the Sultan's Birthday.I have an example of the 1/4 Dinar in my own collection.

Kedah issued silver & gold medal-coins for the Sultan's Golden Jubilee in 2008.I have an example of the silver 5 Dirhams in my own collection.

Tony,
The Straits Settlements 1862 1/4 Cent is quite a scarce coin.Unfortunately,it still eludes me though.

I do have the 1863 1/4 & 1 Cent coins from Sarawak in my collection though.

I picked up a British North Borneo 1904H 1 Cent coin last weekend.

Tony,
The coins of British North Borneo,Sarawak,& the Straits Settlements have always been popularly collected by British Commonwealth numismatists.

Both the Sarawak 1863 1/4c. & Straits Settlements 1862 1/4c. coins are catalogued very high in Krause in the bottom grades.

Hello !!

I am sure that Coin Network will bring many special-interest collectors and hobbyists together. I am a collector, hobbyist, and coin-student based in India.

Indian coins are gradually becoming a rage worldwide. To know more about them, I request you to please join Indian Coins group at

http://www.coinnetwork.com/group/indiancoins

Help us to popularize Indian Coins collection, study and information-dissemination. This can be done if a very large number of friends are brought to this group for sharing of information about Indian Coins. The group offers a large number of free Ebooks, periodicals, and other free downloads of great use coin collectors.

I am sure that you will help in this venture

Very Cordially,

Dear Tony Ji,

you may be interested in joining the Sikh Coins Group on the Coinnetwork. It is quite simple just click on the above bar marked "Groups" and follow the link from there.

Coins of the Sikh Empire used Vikrami Sambat dating system and some of the Silver rupees of Amritsar mint had on them Hindu symbols of Trishul, Nagari Om, Shiv, Ram and so on. The inscription was in the Farsi text with persion numerals.

Regards
Parminder Singh
