Share how your 25th Anniversary NGC/PCGS coins graded.

I just saw the grades for my five sets I set to NGC....they will be shipped today, so I should get them soon.I was very, very surprised at how well they graded....especially the bullion coin, as I thought it would be the toughest to get a 70 and thus a complete 70 set. All the comments about loose coins and some completely out of their capsule had me concerned. Here is how mine graded:2011-W Uncirculated..........69,70,70,70,702011-S Uncirculated...........69,70,70,70,702011-P Reverse…See More

Which coin in the SAE 25th annv. set do you see as the key...the "S" mint unc. or the Reverse Proof?

Based on ebay sales thus far, the "S" minted unc is going in the $325 range and the reverse proof in the $375-$400 range.Personally, this is what I expected. While the "S" minted burnished coin is a first time issue, it really doesn't hold the visual appeal of the reverse proof. To me, each coin has a limited mintage of 100,000 and the reverse proof is more appealing to the eye. Sure, the "S" minted unc is going to be very popular and I love it...but it doesn't look any different from the "W"…See More

11-10-2011 & Already a 25th Anniversary set graded by NGC is on ebay.

Dang, I thought I was making pretty good time as I received my 5 sets today and sent them off to NGC. NGC will probably get them on Monday, 11/14 and then take 12 business days to grade them. But, I see Moderncoinmart already has a NGC graded set "in hand" and for sell on ebay.…See More

25th Silver Eagle Anniversary Set ~ PCGS/NGC Labels ~ how will they differentiate them from their other 25th anniversary labels?

This year, both PCGS and NGC have assigned  many bullion and proof 2011 SAE's with a 25th Anniversary label. The same thing happened in 2005/2006...if I recall, many PCGS 2005 SAE's were mistakenly (IMHO) labeled the 20th Anniversary ...yes, it was the 20th year of production, but not really the 20th anniversary. In 2010, some people thought that if the Mint was going to issue a 25th Anniversary set, that it should of been in 2010. But think about it...if you got married in 1986, when would you…See More

The older commemoritives are some of the nicest coins produced by the Mint, and I share your two choices as two of the best.

Steve,
Your comment about me bashing FleeceBay was a bit on the nose,as it were.

I would never use either FleeceBay or PayPal,as I know of people over here in New Zealand who have been ripped off up on there.

The time for both FleeceBay & PayPal to be sued in every country that they operate is long overdue.

What's wrong with posting links to auction websites that have no listing fees or sales commissions?

You could save a packet,& get more money into your pocket.

Aidan.

please send me ur mailing address and mail id, i will send a beautiful coin or unc banknote from india (coin mailing no:1), i am planning to send more such coin mailings. After u receive it if u are happy with it , u can send me any coin from ur country. please join the club, i will initiate the exchange, please respond, no risk on your side, if u think that sending a single coin or note is not worthwhile then we could decide on increasing the number of coins and unc banknotes, so that our friendship will blossom. This is the initiative of the group called coins for friends join it, make me your friend. i like to have atleast 100 coin mailings to 100 different friends throughout the world by the end of this year

Gem, I've noticed that too, but NGC is the only grading service I've seen to give that attribute.

Steve regarding the 5oz ATB coin PL attribute

Thanks for pointing that out . I hadn't noticed that PCGS hasn't done that.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Steve.  I am considering submitting the two parts to the Numismatist after I finish the second part since I own the rights to my articles.  Your feedback is really helpful.

Very cool pix you have posted of your coins.

My MTB set did come in capsules. I am going to a coin show next month and will submit them for grading then but for the ATB's they have to mail back instead of doing on the spot.  I re-checked the Amark set and it is actually better than I thought.  What is really interesting is the Yosemite coin appears prooflike as do several from the MTB set.  The finish is definitely a lot more mirrored.  But I spoke with Don Willis today (president of PCGS) and he said he knows of no PL ATB's graded by PCGS, so I may submit the Amark set or both to NGC instead.  Do any of your coins look prooflike or DPL?  Best regards, Louis

P.S.- Did you know the proof Buchanans have sold out early?  Coin Update broke this story earlier this week.
