thanks for joining the sikh coins group, how you will be able to join in the interaction and learn something about them.
In relation to your coins from Afghanistan. Well I also collecte Durrani and Mughal coins so if you are able to send me some scan then I can let you know what they are.
my personal email is perminderc@hotmail.com
Rgds Parminder Singh
it appear to be fraction copper, are you able to tell me the weight and a scan with a white background may help to understand the writing. If it is ok with you can I show the scans to a friend.
Rgds Parminder
after checking out the weight it appears that they are fractions, unfortunately it can sometimes be difficult to identify because of the lack of writing which is visible on the small space. Will get back to you after consulting with a few friends.

apologies for a slow reply but here is reply in relation to the coins you wish to identify which I received from Stan Goron the Editor of the ONS.
Dear Perminder
Your correspondent should join the Islamic coin group. Some of the coins, EHUZ, he has there are Mehrabanid pieces struck at Nimruz, though the last may be Mongal. Coin B looks like a Machhlipatan paisa. Featureless bits of copper should not be shown to anyone. The others are varied, maybe Mongol, coppers of the Timurid period etc etc. I am not an expert on Islamic coins so no point in him contacting me directly.

I dont think there was any malice in the term "feature less copper", what Stan refers to is the lack of available information on the coins but you and I have already come to that conclusion as these are fractions and we do realy need to make contact with someone who has the larger like for like pieces to be able to identify your coins.
When this takes place then you will find that the ones you have will realy be more rare compared to its larger denomination coins.
Like today, in the old days people used in general circualtion lower denomination coins and therefore they are much harder to come by, larger denomination coins were never affordible by the general public and it is these coins we tend to collect in modern times.
Hope you will find the above information useful.
Rgds Parminder
Thanks to you and Stan, I have now joined the Yahoo Islamic Coins Group too.
Have you considered opening an photo album on the group to add your scans this way it would be available to anyone for identification.
Just a bit of information sharing, I tend to do this on the Yahoo Sikh coins group and found that because the albums are there on a much permanent basis - members tend to brouse it more regularly.
Rgds Parminder
Please vist my web site www.maruphilaque.com for coins of India & world wide.
