My name is sachin gupte i am from mumbai city i am a electronic engineer by profession i had two phases in my life 2 years back everything used to be or had to be hi-tech and i have also invented my own FM transmitter but since last one year there was a strom in my life which made my life take a U turn and now i have become a hardcore numismatic it gives me pleasure to see coins 8 hours a day and more pleasure to talk to people regarding coins and seeing thier collection it gives me positive energy and each coin i buy is like a energy pill. India had a rich history of coinage as far as 600bc and morever this palce was a amalgam of diffrent cultures and diffrent race which is visible even in todays morden india this gives me a oppurtunity to explore various options avaliable right now i am concentrating on making set collection happy collecting fellow members
About My Coin Collection
when i was 18 I started my coin collection but as they say you are influenced by the company you keep none of my freinds ever encouraged me to continue it cause they felt i was collecting stones, little did i know that i was collecting gems and the real stones were my freinds at least some of them were the stones now at age 30 sarted it all over again witl full steam

Dear Sachin Ji,

Many thanks for your kind comments, the Sikh coin of Amritsar on my profile has a very unique Chattar, which is widely used in Gurdwaras, Mandirs and by Royalty. The Sikh silver rupee is also one that has a double date, a frozen date on the obverse and you can also see vs1900 just above the chatter in farsi numerals.

I see you have many nice coins in you profile. You can check out more Sikh coins on the Sikh coins group pages in Yahoo, there are about 700 scan from group members. One of the largerst publicaly available Sikh coin scans around.

Yes..There are many bimetallic coins with Gold and silver as the base metals-of course in proof sets.They are not at all found in India.You may find them on e-bay.There are few tri-metallic coins too.
