thanks for adding me as a friend, I started collecting coins at the age of nine and at one point had over thousands of coins. As you begin to appreciate the coins more, you begin to specialise and reduce the ones you collect. You are then back to square one and minimise your collection. So please do not feel that you do not have a complete series yet. I suppose what you can do is pick the best coins to make up the series and unlike me, who learnt from default by collecting lots of coins to get back to a few coins like now.
Hi Ray, Yes it is a spectacular coin, with the mother and five babies. It is also in a unique casing that allows it to be "on show" overall a triumph for the Perth Mint. It is a 1 oz 999 silver. Thickness 4 mm diameter 40.6 Minted by Perth Mint Australia for Tuvulu. Unfortunately its extremely low mintage of only 5,000. It was issued in 2006 and now cannot be bought from the Mint or indeed I cannot find a dealer who has one or is prepared to say they have one. I have one left. The secondary market price for them is now heading towards (if not already achieved) $1500.00 Aus. There are a a couple on ebay aus at the moment and these were flushed out mostly due to a recent one being sold for $1200 Aus. In all they are spectacular. Please contact me if you would like any further information and I will be happy to provide if I can.

Hi Ray, Sorry I made a little mistake the mother spider has 3 babies and it is a silver proof. It is part of the Deadly and Dangerous series all in all a popular series. Karyn
I will check the status of the Treasures of Australia for you tonight when I get home from work. To the best of my knowledge the Sapphires are totally unobtainable except on secondary market ie ebay aus and they are going for high amounts. I do not have one of them for sale. The Opals I believe are also sold out although this I would have to check. They have not yet begun to climb too high in price but they will. Check out ebay again. Having said check out ebay I would also be a little wary and also make enquiry of the packaging as well as some people do not care to tell all. I have an Opal one and I have returned my Diamonds ones for replacement due to damage. These I believe you can only now get by phoning the Perth Mint. The opals should still be available through dealers but again most are holding their stocks knowing that they will go up in price. Hope I have been of help to you. If you have any questions or want further information do let me know but I will not be able to answer them until I go and earn my daily bread! Cheers Karyn
You are most welcome Ray. I see you are new to collecting that is great. It can be very addictive though I have found, looking, spending, oohing and aahing. Would you like a link to look at Australias other mint. I agree with Leeeeeeena your Lena is really cute and looks quite regal.
Hi to you Ray,
Hope all is well in your neck of the wookds, at one stage in our history we had many mints (back in the early days of the gold rushes) but now we have two that I am aware of. Out main mint is the one I am sending now It is the Royal Australian Mint. As a person from overseas you can join the mint and get a newsletter and email news. The latter important because for you mail will be slower so you could have trouble getting onto very limited release coins like my avatar. That is where your email news will come in handy. Also lucky you get your coins cheaper that us as we have to pay a tax. Happy looking and have a great day. Karyn
