New U.S. Army Commemorative Coins

Are you planning to buy the new U.S. Army commems, in particular, the $5 gold coin?  I like the coins, but I really think the Mint's prices on these are exorbitant.  Same with the silver dollars.  The 2010 proof gold eagles had lower premiums and lower mintages.  Part of the problem with commems is the surcharge on each coin, but still, these prices are way too high.  What do you think?  Will you buy one from the Mint, or do you plan to wait and see if they are cheaper later on the secondary…See More

Louis, I ordered a ATB set from MTB today. You mentioned that your set from MTB looked better than your A-Mark set. Did the coins from MTB come in capsules?

Also, PCGS received my A-Mark set today for regrading. Once I get the results, I may start a new discussion on here.

Louis, thanks for the info on the MTB coins in capsules.

Two of the A-Mark coins I sent to PCGS (Mt Hood & Yosemite) are very proof-like.

On the Buchanan proof sell-out...I saw that and am pleased. I have 1 proof in OGP & 2 NGC PF70's. I also have 1 NGC MS70.

I thought I'd have to wait until September for this to happen. I kept looking at what the Jackson and Van Buren's were selling for, and I could see the Buchanan right along with them.

Of course, like many others, had I known the proof was about to sell out, I'd of bought a couple more last week...lol..hindsight is always 20-20, but ALWAYS feel happy and blessed with what you have!!

Take care, Steve
