Herman,I hope that you do get something numismatic for Christmas. If you do,can you please scan it,& upload some photos? You should join http://www.mycoinpictures.com ,& download a FREE photo editor off http://www.photoscape.org .
I got 2 plastic banknotes from Papua New Guinea,& Western Samoa's new 5 Tala note as a present.
A contact of mine in Melbourne,Australia has managed to get me some more of the new Zimbabwean banknotes - from the $500 to the $1,000,000 denominations, into stock.I am looking forward to getting those.
Queen Elizabeth II's Christmas message to the British Commonwealth was to the point,& right from the heart.Although I have never met her,I have met 2 men who served as Governors-General of New Zealand,of whom one is now an old friend.
That's a very interesting occupation to have besides being a numismatist.
Have you ever dived onto wrecks in waters of countries other than South Africa?
I've never dived onto any wrecks before. There was only one major wreck over here in New Zealand that was dived onto back in the 1960's,& a major coin hoard, including Sovereigns & British silver coins, were recovered.
By the way,I've joined your coin forum. When I did run a coin forum,I had Scott Balson as a member, but he made very few postings. In fact,he is extremely hard to get hold of.He claims that those Strachan & Co. tokens are coins, when I know they aren't.
You know the thought did occur to me that it might be Balson incognito, the true identity of this person is however less important. The scaving verbal assault he launched on both you and Aidan left me less inclined to take seriously any comments from him. In my experience people who respond in that manner usually have something to hide or have some other inadequacy they try to conceal with such unwarrantably brazen behavior.
All the same the more I learn about this Balson character the less I which to know, People of that most unfortunate character do exist in every profession and history has a way of dealing with them most adequately. Best not to allow one's self to get dragged down with them.
P.S. - Dankie vir die kommentaar, ons moet mekaar mos help waar moontlik - of nie so nie?

Here's a new auction website that you should look at; http://www.my-little-auctions.com .
There's NO FEES being charged whatsoever! This means that you can save a lot more Rand, which you can put into your back pocket.
Aidan.
There is now a South African numismatics group on here, which will be of interest to you.
