The Position of the 1802 Netherlands East India Batavian Republic Scheepjesgulden as the first Coin made for the Cape
The above coin and it's fractions 1/2,1/4,1/8,1/16 and copper 1/32 is presented by Engelbrecht in his important book as the coin that was made for the Cape in the short lived second Dutch Occupation of the Cape in 1802. It seems from his book that the coins were not immediately circulated in the Cape although definitely in Indonesia. They were circulated by the British when they reoccupied the Cape later along with the 1797 Tuppence Cartwheel Pennies.It is quite important to give the above coin…See More

I also collect coins from South Africa,the South African Republic,plus the Rhodesian states,Lesotho,Botswana,Namibia,Zambia,& Zimbabwe as well.The same thing goes for banknotes,postal orders,& traders' currency tokens as well.

Those are amazing coins that you have uploaded the photos of.We see a lot of Kruger coins over here in New Zealand,except for the 5/-.We never see Orange Free State pattern 1d. coins at all over here.
