How should we proceed in creating the world's best online numismatic photo gallery?
Dear members & fellow collectors,
I believe that we should get a domain name registered at http://www.worldnumismaticphotogallery.net ,then find the best open source gallery software to install onto it.
As seen as Krause Publications has let the numismatic community down,I believe very strongly that we,the numismatic community,need to take back control,& start again from scratch to not only recompile a catalogue based on the resources that we do have,but we also need to encourage collectors to upload photos to a gallery to match the pictures with the descriptions.
It would be an opportunity for collectors to finally get to contribute photos of their unlisted banknotes,coins,community currencies,currency tokens,postal notes,& postal orders,in addition to those that have already been confirmed & listed.
The support of the world's national numismatic societies is crucial,but local numismatic societies should be more than welcome to contribute,if their resources allow for it.
The gallery should be there for collectors to upload photos of their new numismatic items that have been released,even if it was released yesterday for the first time.

We aim to take a collaborative approach that is totally non-commercial.
The project will require the support & co-operation from the world's national numismatic societies as well as from the numismatic dealer & numismatic collector communities.
