Here's a group to campaign for a high quality numismatic photo gallery along similar lines to http://www.zeno.ru ,which uses the program from http://www.photopost.com .
Location: Worldwide
Members: 37
Latest Activity: Aug 25, 2011
I've sent an email through to the members of quite a few Yahoo! numismatic groups.
Hopefully,we will get some more members joining up here.

It is really great to see some more members joining up here.
I hope that we can get organisations such as the American Numismatic Association, the International Bank Note Society, the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association, the Royal Numismatic Society of Great Britain, the Royal Numismatic Society of New Zealand,& the Numismatic Society of Auckland to get involved in supporting the campaign for the much needed world numismatic photo gallery.
The members of these organisations would have every right to be involved in creating a resource that could be used as an educational tool.

Well, the International Bank Note Society's (IBNS) note gallery is great.
if you haven't visited it you can here: http://aes.iupui.edu/rwise/ and http://www.banknoteworld.com/
I would suggest following the IBNS model. For us to create one for coins, we need most importantly a person dedicated enough to be its webmaster. Others ofcourse can help but someone has to lead it. Then we would have to think of the costs. If a society can help ofset it that is great, if not then it would need donations. does anyone know if there a similar society to the IBNS for coins?
For coins images can always be donated as they are for the IBNS gallery. We just need to set guidelines and reject any which don't fit them.
Rabia,
What I am proposing is a gallery that includes both banknotes & coins. There would also have to be sections for both postal orders & traders' currency tokens as well.
http://www.zeno.ru does allow members to upload photos of banknotes & coins in members' collections, provided that they are from one of the countries covered.

well, aidan if you want both together, there is this website: http://colnect.com/en
it is a collections management system for notes, coins, stamps, bottle caps and phone cards with plans to expand. if the country is not listed, you can have it added by provinding the necessary information.
You need to be a member of World Numismatic Photo Gallery Campaign. to add comments!
