Have you had enough of presidents on the coins?...would you like to see some designs that celebrate American ideals again..fierce eagles, striding Liberty reaching toward a dawning sun, Liberty standing at the steps of justice....

any suggestions for designs?

I have seen enough Presidential portraits’ on coins to last a lifetime. Oh yes, that’s all that has been on circulating coins in my lifetime (except for Franklin).

Now that all the Presidents will have their own coin in the new Presidential Dollars Series, I believe their portraits’ should be replaced on our circulating coins.

I would be pleased to see any rendition of Lady Liberty on our coinage today, it doesn’t matter if she is standing, setting, pointing, or walking. Any of these would be preferable to what we have now.

One of the most popular coins in America today is the America Silver Eagle. The obverse of which is a rendition of Adolph Weinman’s ‘Walking Liberty Half Dollar’. This has to be one of the most beautiful coins ever minted. This is the type of designs that I would like to see on our circulating coins.

Wouldn’t you love to receive this type of coin (or something similar) in your change everyday?

actually I hadn't even really thought about that. It would be wonderful to get a coin in change each day that would help Americans remember how fortunate we are to have liberty and freedom...maybe it would instill a little pride again..it seems as if the media of our own country does nothing but report doom and gloom and bad mouth us as if we were the source of all the world's problems (war, oil shortage, global warming..all our fault)..let's remember that we are a beacon of Light and Liberty to the world and people are literally dying to come here...
I always thought the introduction of the Lincoln Cent in 1909 was the beginning of the end when it came to truly beautiful circulating coins in the U.S., and would love to see a new eagle or Liberty design. But I don’t know that I trust we will ever see another truly classic design in circulation. Between the Artistic Infusion Program, the Citizen’s Coinage Advisory Committee, and the Commission of Fine Arts there are just too many bureaucratic fingers in the pot.

also a great point...leave it to the government to over complicate things and then still come out with less than desirable results...that's a lot of beauracracy when anyone can look at the coinage and see that the designs are tired and boring..
