Coin Network - Coin Collecting Social Network

I like type coins for three reasons. The first is that I simply like more than just one coin series and collecting by type allows you to collect in more than one "direction" such as by denomination, time period, or series such as seated or barber.
The second reason is collecting by type is less expensive. Obtaining a barber quarter, a type I standing liberty quarter, a type II standing liberty quarter and a washington quarter is less expensive than filling an album that requires one peice for each year and variety.
The one downside to type collecting is that it takes longer because you have to learn how to grade different series instead of specializing in just one. But if you are like me, I have a lot more time than I have money.
Don't think that type collecting is rigid; the quarter example above can be modified. One suggested modification would be to obtain one silver, one clad, and one bicentennial example for the washington series.
The last reason I like collecting by type is that I cannot make a decision on what to collect. I like them all!
