Dear Sachin

please don't feel so negative about he downturn in the world markets, you will see that there is a silver lining in a dark cloud. Many sellers will take advantage of the marker trends and inflate prices in line with market values although the value of the item sold has not realy increased due to rarety. People just do not have alot of money saved up to purchase coins at a very inflated price and if they do they will want to spend it wisely (specially in the numismatic world).

Recently a friend bid for a coin on a the internet (common selling site) and as usual waiting for the last day for the final bid to be placed, however he did not place his bid and the coins did not sell. The seller contacted my friend requesting that he put his offer for the coin. The offer was rejected and the coin is now on sale again at half its original price form last year. Needless to say it has still not sold.

So please just be a little forceful with the seller and do not feel sad to call the deal off if the price is not right.
You will also begin to see many stories like the one above.

Hope this is useful best wishes.

well parminder ji i was little immature to comment on that i feel this whole coin collection thing is a big game and one
should have 100% knowledge of what we are doing and here in india right frm punjab to the botton in south we have huge
oppurtunities in collecting coins especially if you are in punjab your lucky cause right from porus to kushans punjab has been a a mysterrious and lot of oppurtunities to find stuff dere we say that people of punjab are from the Indo-Aryan people but same applies with sum of the Maharashtians who were part of the indo-aryan race rest of india we have lot
of diversity
Dear Sachin Ji

thanks for your comments, but 100% knowledge applies to anything before we move forward and with the advent of the internet this has made the gathering of information more efficient, easier and up to date.

The main bonus for us is that we can intereact before we make a decision in goind forward with forums like this one. If you would like to share or require information in relation to Sikh Coins the you can email me direct on perminderc@hotmail.com

Hello Sachin. After reading this "Recession in Life and hobby" We must first remember why we collect coins is for gain or is it pleasure. For me it is pleasure, knowledge and historical importance, if people only collected for gain then all the historic information gained from coins would be lost. I've been collecting coins since I was 8years old some 43years over those years coins have only gone up in price and all so my collection has changed, so i've sold coins from my earlyer collection to then buy coins for my new collection, if you only sell coins when you better the ones you have and over your life time you should end up with some fantastic coins of which if you would like to sell them then and only then you will get a very good price. But if one day you buy coins and a week later you sell them then more than likely you will get less or just break even. Best to decide on what you would like to collect and what interests you the most and then slowly look for these coins in the best condition and the best price, and try not to all ways buy from dealers. Andy
Hello again Sachin, I just would like to add one example, "food for thought" You have commented on my Jahengir heavy Rupee in Mughal coins well I bought that coin many years ago for the grand sum of £20 so as you can see coins do go up in value. I don't imagine you could buy that now for the same price evern in a recession. Andy
Dear Shri Sachinji
I agree with your views and had experience with ebay auctions and some times when we bid at the last moment their site gets hanged and some time before bid finishes counter bid is made within a second.
Many a times I have got coins from local dealers at cheaper rates than ebay and we want to sell our surplus coins they will offer lower rates
