I had to sell this coin last year to buy my daughter her first car. It was painful to let it go, but it went into solid hands, so I felt good about that.

I think this is one of my favorite coins...I have a few of these coins not the (VAM 2A) really good shape hardley any wear or scratches ... What is the VAM 2A what makes this more valuble? I'm here to learn...

Thanks

A vam is a variety. They are caused by die issues when the coin was struck.

I was looking at the site provided me and found out some interesting things. I have a 1922 D and it what seems to be a fracture going from the bottom left starting under the N "In God we Trust" and curved down to the Number 1 and then turns up towards the neck no marks on the neck but continues on the back side of the neck over the T and curves up to the last strand of hair...I will take a picture of it and post it let me know what you folks think...

Ray

I tried to post the photo here but had some difficulty ... I will post it on my page site.

This is the only Peace Dollar I currently own. I have had a 1921 before, but this is the VAM 1H, which is a business strike from the Satin Proof dies.
