Here is a anti-slavery token from the late 1700's or early 1800's:

I cannot confirm the actual date this was minted and that should make for interesting discussion on here. ;)

Here is an interesting English Evasive (evasives do qualify for this Group):

Obv head right, TVRCVPELLERIVS above, signed I K (John Kirk), Rev female figure (Britannia) seated at right facing rising sun at left, HISPANNIOLA above (Rulau 90; Byrne 1156-7). One of the British series of Imitation Regals. Turcu Pellerius was the title of the commander of the mercenaries of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem.

The date this was minted is disputed, either 1793-1795 or 1809-1814. So this is another one that should prove interesting to discuss. ;)

Toad,
Those are very nice traders' currency tokens that you have got there.

The Evasions are of historic interest,as the Farthing ones are far harder to find than the 1/2d. ones are.

By the way,how come your photos have come out egg-shaped?

You should join up at http://www.mycoinpictures.com ,& do download this FREE photo editor; http://www.photoscape.org while you're at it .

Toad,
Those are pretty nice trader's currency tokens that you've got there.

I have found out why your photos have come out egg-shaped.Just above the words 'Comment Wall',there is a green cross with the words 'Start a Discussion' next to it.Using that may help eliminate this problem.

Thanks for the welcome.Eventually,I will be getting up some photos, but it will be after I can get my computer's original power box rebuilt though.

I use the "Add an Image" button on the "Add a Comment" box. They aren't oblong on my puter so maybe your settings are causing the problem?

I will add some 17th century farthings and half-peny tokens later. :D

I'm experimenting with Aidan's gallery suggestion. In the mean time, here is a later token that is one of my favorites because of the T. Paine connection.

Ulric,
You have to delete this; "alt="width="344"height="161"/>" from the last line of the script to get rid of the ugly egg shaping.

Aidan.
