Cyprus 1928 45 Piastres.

This is the only commemorative coin that was issued by the Colony of Cyprus.Unlike most Cypriot commemorative coins (which are mostly medal-coins),this was actually put into circulation.
This coin commemorates 50 years of British rule.
From 1879,the Cypriot Pound was divided along this line;
9 Piastres = 1 Shilling.
20 Shillings = 1 Cypriot Pound.
The Cypriot Pound was pegged to the Pound Sterling at a ratio of 1:1.
In this case,45 Piastres = 5 Shillings or 1 Crown.
