Cooch Behari coins that were issued under British suzerainty are not easy to find, which is why they are extremely elusive to me.

Hi Aidan, Cooch behar was an independent kingdom which was formed in the late 1500's and continued till the independence of India. The Kings issued Narayani Tankas and they are scarce. In fact when the kingdom came under British Suzeranity, they lost the right to mint coins and were allowed to mint limited quantity of Nazrana coins on the occasion of their accession to the throne.

Niraj,
That's very interesting. The Cooch Behari Nazarana coins that were struck under British suzerainty are pretty scarce.Have you ever seen these or been offered them for sale?

Yes they are Rare. Thy were allowed only to mint @ 1001 Silver and 101 Gold Coins per ruler. I have a Jitendra Narayana 1/2 Rupee and a Jagddipendra Narayana 1/2 Rupee Nazrana Coins. I will upload the coins.

Niraj,
You should join up at http://www.mycoinpictures.com ,& while you're at it,you should download this FREE photo editor from here; http://www.photoscape.org .

Those are very nice coins, but I do know why your photos have come out an egg shape.Above the words 'Comment Wall',there is a green cross with 'Start a Discussion' next to it.Using that will hopefully avoid this problem with the photos coming out in an egg shape.

But it seems perfect to me. They are round shaped like any other coin.

Niraj,
I haven't got the facilities to scan photos at the moment,as I'm using an emergency set-up until I can get my computer's original power box rebuilt.

Eventually,I will have to buy a digital camera.
