Coin Network - Coin Collecting Social Network

Hey guys,

I want to brainstorm how each of us can help each other to create better blogs.

Here are a couple ideas to get each other started.

1. If you have a post that you are proud of, don't be afraid to post about it here. I am always looking for good articles to link to.

2. Guest blogging. We could guest blog on each others blog. You have an open invitation to send me an article and I will post it on Coinblogger.

What are you thoughts? What other ways could we help each other?

I personally would like a critical critique. My daughter is in art school the critique is how they judge art, not just by one person but by the whole class. It in injects ideas, and helps to clarify problems in the (in this case) writers; subject, relevancy, grammar, authenticity and authority.

In order for this to be effective, it must be constructive, and not demeaning in nature. Good constructive critiques are hard to come by. If we can somehow do this in a semi-private manor it would be great. What I mean is for the eyes of the members of this group only. Have an area where we can pre post an article and get comments on the article before posting to a website. I am not recommending doing this on everything written but on the more important posts that we want to post. I think a discussion on how this would work with rules would be a great idea.

Tell you what maybe if we start a site critique between the two of us others will jump in. if you are up for honest opinion, i will look at your site and you look at mine, with an honest critical eye and let's see how this progresses.
if you want to do this just post back here.
Well personally I think that these are great ideas. The guest blogging suggested by Coin Blogger and Zapdbf's suggestion as well.

As the creators of our blogs we can not always be perfectly objective about our sites. There might be something we are overlooking or implementing incorrectly.
I know I am constantly looking for ways to improve my site and make my blog more user friendly and attractive. So it's an ongoing affair.

After all we do this because we love doing it, but we all want it to be the best representation of our vision that it can be as well.(or did I loose the plot somewhere along the way?)
Feedback is a great tool when done properly. In addition to the earlier comments I would formalise it by asking each of the bloggers what they liked best about their post, and what they feel could have been done better. Then follow the same format for the reviews, what they liked best about your article and what they feel could have been done better.

I write for a newsletter so don't get the opportunity to get decent feedback in a timely manner though I do get my articles proof read by the Club President
