Canada 1998W 50 Cents.

This is the only coin with the Royal Canadian Mint's 'W' mintmark that I have got so far.

Thanks to Martin for sending me this coin.

Please let me know what you think.

Aidan.

I just finished looking at all my denominations for this year, and it seems I already had them all with this W mint mark. Totally explains why it got sent to Aiden as one of my 'dead-double'
If Aiden can get it graded as a MS65 Charltons got it listed for 10 bucks Canadian
W mint marks only got produced on behalf of the Winnipeg Mint for some specialized 'Tiny Treasures, and O'Canada sets on 3 occasions around this period. None got released individually.
Im not a big fan of those sets,...it just seems like 'another example of the fluff' the Mint likes to produce.
Martin,
That's very interesting to know.

Krause prices this in MS63 (or 'Unc' in our British Commonwealth 7 point grading) at US$2! Is that underpricing or what?

It is obvious that those who do the pricing for Krause haven't a clue as to pricing a lot of Canadian coins.

Aidan.
This is the Charlon 2010 Catelogue price i quoted
Martin,
I can't pass judgement on Charlton prices, but I don't like the fact that Charlton lists those Dollars stamped 'J.O.P.',which to me are damaged coins worth only bullion value.

Aidan.
Hhhmm..whats J.O.P?

Martin,

I have since picked up a 1998W Loonie in a capsule.

Aidan.
