Coin Network - Coin Collecting Social Network

Hi I'm kind of new to world coins. I have been collecting U.S. coins for many years. Althoue I have had world coins for maybe 40 years I have been more of a gather than a collecter untill about 2 years ago. I am geting a lot more into the world coins now. What I was wanting to know is whats the best world coin magazine in the U.S? So fair about all of my info has come from the inter-net which is fine but I'd like a magazine just to keep up with things.

David,
I don't know about any coin magazines from America, but Token Publishing's 'World Coin News' is a pretty good read, even though it has to come in from England.I read it at my local library to try & keep up with the latest numismatic news, especially in relation to the numismatic scene in England.

Here is Token Publishing's website; http://www.tokenpublishing.com .

I can't vouch for whether it's the best, but the publishers of Numismatic News also publish World Coin News. Most of the articles from the print mag are also published online. You can check it out here: http://www.worldcoinnews.net/
Coin World Newpaper also has alot on world coins, but if you subscibe to the World Coin News newspaper that Mike has refered you too, it would be rather redundant. So unless your also interested in U.S. coins, I'd go with Mike's suggestion....

It's not as large as Coin World, but it is dedicated to the foreign coin. I had subscibed many times over the years just for the ads before the internet made things easier. ~ Jim

Invest in a set of Standard Catalog of World Coins by Krause. With those you won't need much else other than general info on new releases.

You can now get the Krause catalogues on D.V.D.s as well as in book form.

Do the DVD's cost the same as the books?

I've got no idea.

Interestingly enough, when you buy the books, they also come with D.V.D.s in the back.

I believe the CD's are les expensive, but I'm not certain, at least they used to be. I have the books from 1701 on, and just update them every 5 years or so. They are definately a handy reference work to keep on hand. David is just getting serious, I think that a regular newspaper would be a good place to start. There's always time to build that reference library later on. Or, just ask specific question's about those foreign mystery coins in a forum like this. ~ Jim
Well it looks like you all have giveing me some good ideals to start with. I will check some of these out. Thanks a bunch.
Better yet invest in the DVD sets, you will save a lot of money, and I do believe the 1800-1701 and 1700-1601 are now dvd as well. Its also better tha loading a ton of books around.
