Many sellers will have friends and employees order limited quantity items for them. Some will also offer premiums to anyone who wants to sell coins or sets they have bought to them, and then they will resell the coins on ebay and elsewhere. I know there was a seller recently with a buy offer for the Lincoln C & C set at $100 each.
Personally, I would never buy a "Roll" of proof coins. IMHO proof coins are coins not touched directly by human hands. The folks that sell rolls have bought proof sets in quantity and then cracked them open to create rolls of proofs. Even if they are wearing gloves when loading the rolls, they are still allowing the coins to touch each other. It must leave marks and/or scratches on what is supposed to be a pristine coin. NO THANKS.
thanks a lot richard
