Coin Network - Coin Collecting Social Network

I can't believe the holidays are right around the corner. In the spirit of the season, what's on everyone's holiday gift list?

One coin that I am hoping to receive is the Dutch Commemorative Architecture coin. It might be the most unique coin design I have ever seen. It doesn't appear to be available at the Dutch Mint any longer, so I might have to help my wife locate it, if she wants to give it to me as a gift. Maybe we will get one for our son, too.

Post something that you'd like to give or receive for the holidays!

20th Anniversary Silver Eagle Set

While I know I won't get this as a gift, I plan on using the money I receive for Christmas to help purchase this set. I will just pay the difference out of my own pocket. I started collecting on Christmas 2006 when I received a coin as a gift, so I just missed out on this set from the US Mint. :(

That Dutch Commemorative Architecture coin is very impressive looking coin! I've never heard of it until just now. Hope you get your hands on one!
Oh, and I would give my girlfriend a nice coin...but I'm afraid I would be single on Dec. 26th if I did! :P
That Dutch coin is really cool! Unique too. The way they did the face is like pointellism. (SP?) I wonder if thats what they were going for.
On my Christmas list is an album for the Mercury dime collection I plan to start, an unc Merc to put in it which I ordered for my mom because she would have gotten ripped off trying to shop for a coin lol, and a book about Walking Liberty Halves.
Also, my dad asked me if I would prefer old coins or new coins from the mint. I said old coins, so he'll probably pick something out of his lock box at the bank for me. I hope so anyway. He's got lots of good stuff in there.
A nice example of a 1916-d Mercury dime . To complete my set . Or any PCGS xx69 Sacs .
I can't really have a Christmas Coin list - I'd have to pick out and/or buy the things I wanted, and most are too expensive to ask for as a gift.

So, I'm going to buy myself a MS70 2008 Silver Eagle with the 07 reverse. That's my Christmas list. Anyone have an opinion on what a fair price for that specific coin would/should be...?

Happy Holidays!

Jim
In response to some of the questions on the Dutch Architecture coin, the obverse creates an image of the Queen by using a circling configuration of the names of famous architects. Here is a detailed description of the design and design process by the artist behind the coin.

I found two from a non-US ebay seller with a BIN at $41 so I snapped them up. Haven't seen any more available since. Hope they arrive in time for Christmas!
I just went in to the Dutch mint webside, and you are right. Out of sale.
The good news is.....there is a gold 10 Euro coin with the same looks.
Have to be nice to the girlfriend??!!??
194.95 Euro's
Good luck.
Willem
