Just saw a poll question on FoxNews regarding Obama's jobs speech today. I should say that I did not watch or read the speech.

The question was "What jobs idea do you agree with most?" Options are:

Payroll tax cuts for employers and employees
Tax credits for businesses to hire veterans
Tax credits to hire the long-term unemployed
Aid to states to prevent layoffs
Investment in infrastructure projects
Other

It seems to me that at some very fundamental level, this administration either does not understand the problem or does not care. (not that I think republicans do either) The first three options all reduce govt income without doing anything to create a job. The next two options spend money we do not have and if approved, will force the US to borrow or print more money. Option four does nothing to create a job. Option five might create a job but the money to pay the wage will most assuredly come from a govt funded contract employing union employees.

Of the five stated options, number five makes the most sense. We will still be just as broke but at least something tangible will result. $14.7 trillion of debt could have bought a serious amount of infrastructure!

Asking congress to create jobs is like asking a manure spreader to create perfume.  The congress is a machine that spends money, and makes laws that cripple the economy.  The only jobs they can create is by creating a bigger government!

Get serious Obama. Spend what you make and no more! Common sense to me and an unknown philosophy to the government.

Thank you, Coin Network users for being so civil when using this forum.

I ain't say USA is terrible, I only pointed out some of the issues like dual definition of the "Freedom/Humanity"of the Govt or politicians, greediness for the OIL becoz of that so many innocent including Americans died n many lost their job, their home. That's not America George Washington dreamed of.

Also you are insulting our President whom we elected to represent this country, saying him Muslim n Hate USA!! What Obama is a magician who will turned up this f***ed off eco in a sec, ha? It's only people like YOU, who didn't study well, just wanna have fun in life, did drugs n alcoholic, spent money for fun on credit, lazy ass but only big talks, that makes this eco down n now blaming others.

I know what's being an American, and I am proud of it. Being American is Freedom, tolerance and always be on the path of TRUTH. But from you I can't see a damn thing of TRUE AMERICAN values. You r those 1 of those pathetic, failure in life, unemployed, who live all his life blaming others n Govt, who has no goal in life, racist, and who doesn't represent America or true Americanism AT ALL. As per I know America, it's a way better definition.

Another example of your broadness of mind from your statement, lol, "Probably not, you curry eating, slurpee serving, taxi driving, idiot who has no clue how to act" LOL, PITY on you. Open your eyes, becoz of immigrants this country survives, there r lot of them Enggs, Docs, scientists, who serves America better, u fool. And that same curry many American love to eat))) And the same taxi many American wait on the road to go to Office n home. And if you have no knowledge of all these, look around or google it. GO n have some knowledge whats going on this world n then come n argue with me. It's worthless to talk to a FOOL like you, please don't waste my time. Have a good day.

If this Country is so terrible, then why the HELL did you come here to live?  Either you are a hypocrite, or just an oportunist, taking advantage of all the hand-outs available to you here.  Especially in California, where every illegal arrival is given the key to the city.  What a moron, and a accurate example of the type of individuals who game the system, at the expense of others.  Have a nice day, and when you do apply for citizenship, maybe then you might understand what it means to be an AMERICAN!?  Probably not, you curry eating, slurpee serving, taxi driving, idiot who has no clue how to act.  Freedom of speech doesn't forgive ignornance, it just allows it.  Remember, "Life is hard, especially when your stupid".  And, you can't fix stupid!

FYI: I am an American citizen and I live here. And about demean of America, people like you DEMEAN this country. Talking about 3rd world country, don't worry if this credit trend (Trillion dollar debt) will go on, soon USA is gonna be a 3rd world country n we r gonna live in this country. Good Luck.

If you like to debate with me, please try using proper English, or at least Spell Check!  All lives lost are important.  For you to insinuate that I was only speaking about Americans only shows your closed mindedness.  I  imagine you live in one of the third world sh.. hole countrys that love to demean the USA, until you want our money or protection?

I do apologize for getting off point.  There are so many factors that contribute to the rise and fall of PM prices, that it's getting harder to know how to react.  Again, sorry everyone for the rant!

Just don't think about only American lives, there are millions of Iraqis died as well, many of them are children. Think about your house is bombed and your loved ones died in front of your eyes. Only life of Americans has value and others have none!!! Anyway, if someone has money and military, or in other words Super Power, they always show that to the world, there is nth NEW in it.

It's sad that there is no major demonstration against the war, from American citizens like they had in 70's for Civil Rights or others. And now economy is screwed up becoz of war, n people are realizing ohh, Iraq war was bad n shouldn't have happened!!! I support the Idea of Freedom of this world from cruel dictators like Saddam, Gaddafi etc, but freedom must have one and only one definition. What's USA or UN doing in Zimbabwe or Somalia where there are millions of people are dieing!! becoz they don't have OIL?

Don't forgot all of the lives as well as the money.  Who cares about money, which can be replaced.  It's the deaths of the young men and women which is the real cost that's involved here!  I would work for less if we would stop putting our young blood in harms way, especially when we are protecting the Heroin trade.  When you have a president who has run nothing but his MOUTH, is a closet Muslim, hates the USA, is a bleeding heart liberal, and seems to be next best speaker since Hitler, the price of PM's doesn't quite seem too important.  And Lureuin, don't you live "Down-Under"?  I love what the PM of Australia said regarding the Muslims there; If you don't like it here, get the F... out!!!
Sorry about my comments.  God bless the USA!

Another non coin related conversation that turned ugly!! I would think everybody would have learned from past conversations that this place is only good for Coin Related Topics? If your trying to change the world people, you cant do from your recliner!!

Please, kind users, remember that the United States is not a democracy in which our people have a vote on how this country works. Our form of government is not a democracy!!!!!!

We elect people that "SHOULD" represent us.  Unfortunately that is not always the case and dissenters are advised to visit their voting booth. Twice if you can swing it! heheheh.   We are a nation of laws, a republic. Hello!

Buy silver!.................... and gold!

The original post was made in the Precious Metal Forum and was intended to point out the potential upside to PM prices due to Obama's jobs proposal. If people want argue outside the topic then just ignore it. The only reason things break down is the abundance of willing participants. You can learn from it to by imagining how people will act when TS really HTF! Not gonna be pretty at all.

I appreciate all the info you provide Buffalo. So far, I have not seen any analysis that says this bill, if passed, will do anything other than increase the debt/deficit or reduce tax revenue. As 3rdStooge points out, we do not have a democracy. Our constitutional republic is corrupt and I believe, beholden to central bankers.

I see a lot of people talking about gold and silver being in bubbles now. I have no doubt that they will eventually be in a bubble but not yet. Once TSHTF you will see PM's enter bubble territory. Our currency is being methodically debased and the steady rise in PM prices reflects that. Despite the intentional manipulation, prices continue to march higher. Solid fundamentals drive the decade long rise and until we accept reality (austerity/living within our means) it will continue.

There will still be dips in price but if we experience another terror attack or Greece defaults, prices will likely skyrocket sooner rather than later. Silver is up 109% in the last 365 days. If you believe PM's will be higher in 3,6,9 months then you should buy now.

Bill

I'll add that I absolutely do not believe that gold and silver are in a bubble. They are going up in response to macroeconomic events. The only impetus that might drive them back down other than these silly Central Bank interventions is a real economic recovery that doesn't involve printing money and is based on things like job growth.

Otherwise, PMs will continue to rise for the foreseeable future. Anyone collecting gold or silver coins should buy them while they still can.

Economic, fiscal, and political issues (the President's proposals have elements of all three areas) do affect PM prices and should not be ignored by anyone wanting to try to understand these markets. So I think the topic here as Bill originally posted it is a good one for discussion.

Shreekanta made this statement above: "I know what's being an American, and I am proud of it. Being American is Freedom, tolerance and always be on the path of TRUTH."

I agree, but unfortunately all too often in our culture nowadays we see a lack of tolerance and negativity that interferes with the "path of TRUTH"- something that we need to move past in my opinion if we are to have any chance of creating a better future for all of us.

I don't see any bubbles in gold or silver either. The only answers the PTB seem to have to hold everything together provide the fundamentals for both to go higher long term, although I do believe volatility will continue to increase.

Bill, regarding your comment about the central bankers, this quote from one of the Rothschildes pretty well sums that up:

"Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes it's laws."
