Just checked on my order, and earlier this morning my book was in "backordered". It has now moved to "in stock and reserved". Maybe more will start moving out the door real soon.

Ditto here. My coin has been ISR for about a week now, and the book backordered to 2/6/09. Both are now ISR.
Fantastic - even better that I expected. Can't wait to get mine!
My cc was just charged 10 minutes ago. Yeahhhhhhh !!!
Sounds like they are shipping in volume today !
I just hope I don't drool all over this coin. Based on the pictures, it is a real beauty..
Wow that is beautiful!

Mine was just charged today as well...I never thought I'd be so happy to see such a whopping big charge on my CC as I am with this.

Wooohoooo....!!!!
Mine has moved from "backordered" to "in stock and reserved" in the last 2 hours. Very cool - we'll likely have them very soon!
Just in case we get too excited...remember, in order to receive 1st Strike designation via PCGS, you literally can't even open the cardboard box from the Mint. That's the plan for mine and my father's. BTW, I am still in process. I got tired of waiting for that book, so I canceled it. I hope to have some progress tomorrow. Congrats to the first UHR recipients!

That's interesting. I thought the only time the sealed cardboard box was required was when the coin was available from an alternate source. i.e. the 20th Silver Eagles could have a 2006 Proof from general population get mixed in with a Reverse Proof Eagle.

I had always thought that when only one source, in this case the US Mint, was shipping this coin in only one variation that a sealed box was NOT required. Is this a wrong assumption?

According to NGC's web site, the coin can be shipped in it's plastic container within the first thirty days with no need to include the box. Let alone original sealed cardboard box. Of course, this is for the Early Release designation.

Maybe PCGS is different but since this is not being shipped in any other variety I can't understand why.
