ouch. I think we all knew that this was going to and perhaps needed to happen. But I'm afraid that it's going to knock a lot of buyers\collectors out of the market and change the way all of us monitor the mint's prices (via the weekly spot trends) to wait out for a good time to buy. It will make me look longer and harder at say PAMP bars in plat, gold and palladium since they follow spot a whole lot closer and will make these SO much more attractive as an alternative to the mint products.
At least it looks like silver will retain some pricing stability (at least at this time) in the mint's offerings.
And to add insult to injury--- I just went and looked on the mint's site-- thinking, maybe I'll step up to the plate for two sets
of the four piece unc gold eagles or the double prosperity set or some other good offering--- and the four piece gold sets and all the unc gold coins (which were avail a day or two ago) are now backordered with Jan 21 shipping dates.
When I ordered the 4 piece plat sets in the first week of December--- I got promised later shipping--- whose date kept on slipping until weeks later I got a cancellation notice. So now I'm scared to order say the four pc unc gold set and wait weeks only to have the mint cancel on me.
