Not everybody who dislikes the right-wing extremism, violence, and racism demonstrated by the Tea Party crowd is a lefty. When I saw the TP group spitting on black Congressmen and hurling the N word I immediately flashed back to what went on in the 50s & 60s with the civil rights movement. The people who display this behavior are throwbacks to the neanderthal age of American politics. They have no reasoned arguments or thought out political opinions. They are the same gun totting racial bigots who walked home from Appomattox CH in 1865 to form the KKK. As such they are the enemies of all Americans who cherish freedom and democratic government. Hopefully they do not represent most Tea Party members.
I am a fiscal conservative who has advocated for tax increases and spending cuts to stabilize our economic situation. I am concerned with the unfunded wars and expensive new domestic programs while nobody else seems concerned about anything except preventing tax increases on rich people and protecting the profits of big businesses like Insurance and huge Pharma. The House Speaker will not be inviting me to DC anytime soon. LOL
Like the vast majority of Americans I voted for Obama because McCain seemed like Bush 3. He and Ms Bubble Head had no new ideas and they never met a war they did not want. They even talked about attacking Iran in the campaign to keep Israel happy. Frankly, I think that was a cause of our involvement in Gulf War I, Oil & Israel. How would we pay for that? Many of our NG guys here in Va have been deployed so often that they have more active duty time than many of the new RAs. Most are not reenlisting and that is an unfortunate development.
Something may be in the wind as you say, but we all better pray that violence is not part of it. Big government does have a way of dealing with that and they now have new tools like Bush's own Patriot act. Air your differences, use the process, and follow the law. That is what we had to do from 2000-2008!

Health care has nothing to do with any of this. Bullion prices and loss of monetary value are not happening despite the talk-show host prognostications. It is just a Tea Party terror tactic like throwing bricks through windows. Just another tactic to scare the skittish public in a recession for political and financial gain.

Permalink Reply by Steve W on March 29, 2010 at 10:08pm Steve W.....like the vast majority of Americans (52% vs 48% is a VAST majority?) you voted for Obama because you got sucked into his snake-oil salesman b.s. and now we can all see that his Chicago brand of politics is just that.
You're a big crybaby and act like that girl in the movie "American Pie": Everything that happens takes you back to some crazy left liberal movement of 25-50 years ago. "One time, in band camp......" I know you were a soldier, stop soiling the great thing that that represents. Obama is a nut job and he's stealing money from those who make $100k to lavish on bums that can't bother to get off the couch and find "the right job." Extending unemployment benefits for years, healthcare for everyone, mortgage relief for those who extended themselves too far. Credit card relief for anyone who can vote. Next will be handicapped placards for fat people so that they don't have to walk more than 25 feet to buy beer, cigs and candy.
Good Lord. Suck it up, there are legless people out there running marathons. There are people who can't move anything but their eyeballs writing history.
America was build on DOERS and not TAKERS. Be a DOER and not a TAKER.
I'm outta here for another 6 months. Holy cow. I remember why I left now.

Permalink Reply by Steve W on March 29, 2010 at 10:23pm Platinum took more of a bubble dive. It went down after a too fast run up, just about the same time McCain said the economy was sound. If my memory serves me correctly, it was below gold for about a week or two. It has recovered quite a bit, which the economy hasn't. When platinum was at it's high's jewelers reported that women wanted platinum wedding bands not gold, go figure.
