Purandare,
The Newfoundland 1c. coin is a scarce coin.It eluded me until someone over in Canada sent me one.

The coins of Sarawak are generally a scarce coin series, but it is getting harder to find coins from there, just like with the Newfoundland coin series.

Both of these 2 coin series have coins with mintage figures of less than 1,000,000 coins.

Aidan.
Newfoundland coins are generally hot, hot hot..
Sadley however, recent trend value for this particular coin low mintage coin of 300,000 is as below.Goes to show that low mintage does not necessarly=big bucks
If you need to know any higher grades let me know.

VG-$2
VF-$3
EF-$6
AU-$20
Martin,
Newfoundland coins are extremely underpriced (& underrated!),especially in Krause.

I'm not sure what Charlton's prices are like on them.

Aidan.
Got the 2010 Charlton here and the values are even lower. This is nuts, I dont collect any of it but I always thought the values were way way higher.
VG-$3
F-$5
VF-$7
EF-$10
AU-$15
MS-$40
Jezzz...and MS would barely get you a case of beer and bag of ice!!!!
Martin,
Unlike you,I do have an interest in the coins of Newfoundland, along with all the other colonies in Canada that had their own coins & traders' currency tokens.

For years,I had been looking for an example of the Newfoundland 1911 50c. coin, but one came my way a few months ago,so I bought it.

I'm still missing the Canadian 1911 25c. & 50c. coins though.

Aidan.
Hello Aidan and Martin
many thanks for your quick response to my querry.
I am waiting for information on
Austria 1 kronie 1913
egypt sultan Almasraia 10 piastres 1917 and
cheers
ashok purandare
Im working on a 'raw' Canadian collection, and I just had a look see to see if I got a 1911, 50cent and 25 cent.
I got em both, but they only look to be in a VG grade condition. Im not a great grader but I can usually plug them into the proper 'alpha' values.(ie, G, VG, F VF etc.
I got a small notation on the back of the 2x2 of the 25 center that I payed 16 bucks Canadian for it, unsure what i payed for the 50 cent, but I do have the comfort of knowing I would never have paid more than the present trend value.
Good luck with your hunt, Im in Toronto and if there is anything I can do in helping you find any of these please let me know.

Martin,
That's very good to know.

Interestingly,I still haven't got either the Alberta or the Saskatchewan Provincial Centenary 25c. coins that came out in 2005.

One day,I will hopefully get them, along with the 1992 Prince Edward Island 25c.,which is the only one missing from the 1992 Confederation 25c. coin series in my collection.

Aidan.
