Coin Network - Coin Collecting Social Network

I'm working on a new website to track coin trends based on auction sales (ebay, etc) The site compares the sale price to the book value. It currently only archives PCGS coins although i hope to have NGC in the near future.

The site is far from complete. So there will be some errors. I'm looking for suggestions on presentation of the data.

Thanks for your reply Vince.

I read the licensing agreement and didn't see a specific mention of using images. I'm thinking about replacing the images with stock images to give the site a more consistant feel and to make sure i'm not in violation of their license.

I've been working on a new price layout similiar to the grade books. You can find it at:
http://www.cointrends.org/matrix.php?cointype=peace_dollar

There are numerous design challenges i'm working through. The new matrix view has the grades out of order, and some of the tables span to wide (morgan dollars) due to the large number of grades. I'm working on a way to distinguish the first strike and other varietys on this view. I may add a drop down menu to "fill in the gaps with book prices" and/or "show prices as percentage of current book price".

I look forward to any comments or suggestions you or others may have.

Great concept and has a lot of potential. However, I think you may want to check the legality of the pics you're using as eBay (and others) may not permit you to use them. The eBay logo is on a majority of the pics. I could be wrong, but it certainly doesn't hurt to look into it. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Vince,

I changed the way the prices are layed out.
http://www.cointrends.org/price.php

The coins are layed out in a matrix now with a drop down box to isolate grades. All prices are 30 day averages. When you click on a price it brings you to the last five coins sold. I plan on adding some graphs to that page (maybe last year) and I also, plan on adding some info such as mintage, etc. The thumnail images will be repalced with links to the auctions to verify prices and lookup other information.

For each price, you should add the source next to it, maybe linkable. That will make your site more credible.

As far as the problem with width, maybe you can create tabs similar to how PCGS does it. See this link.

Hope these help and good luck!

I added a lot of new features, including links to the auctions which prices are displayed.
Platinum $100 MS

Here is a sort list of changes:
The coins are also sorted by type and variety
Added a bunch of new categories
Added graphs ( will change to month graphs once more data is collected)

I hope to get rid of the drop down with a page listing all the coin types.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.
I am now importing heritage, and teletrade auction data along with ebay.
added a new forum @ http://cointrends.org/phorum/index.php
