Our Mint under this guy Moy has become so inept that they can't even keep their lies up to date .  A month into the new year and their site has last years cobwebs.  But of course they are part of the crooked, Goldman Sachs/Geithner Treasury Department.

Take a valium. Your ranting is very tedious. Every single post you put on here bashes GS and Geithner. Not that I am in total disagreement with you....but.....you need a new dog to kick sir.
LG, I just finished a great book called Illegal Tender by David Tripp. It centers around the disposition of the 1933 Double Eagle (the worlds most valuable coin) coins, but it also talks about the Mint from 1900- 1995. During the period from 1925-1940 their were numerous crooked dealings in the Mint itself. Those guys make Moy look like a saint. The Mint masters were honest, but several bureaucrats just down the food chain were very shady. Bags of gold coins just "walked out the door" of the mint. To this day we do not really know how many 1933 double eagle gold coins were purloined from the mint from 1933-1938. They keep showing up and the Secret Service seizes them. It is like whack a mole!
If you guys are into the history of the Mint and US coinage, check out the books by Roger Burdette. He wrote "A Guide Book of Peace Dollars" and an award-winning series titled "Renaissance of American Coinage" in three volumes- 1905-1908, 1909-1915, and 1916-1921. All of them have a lot of history based on actual Mint records, documents and letters from the time, and so on. Very interesting for anyone into that aspect of the hobby.
A few years ago, the daughter of a shady coin dealer in Philadelphia who figured prominently in the earlier investigation, just happened to find 10 more 1933 double eagles in her father's effects. The Secret Service kept those coins after she sent them in for authentication. Litigation continues.

I know you all are tired of my criticism of the Mint but my criticism is mild compared to the real activities of the Mint. Look at Michaels blog today. He shows a comparison of the Lincoln line drawing to the minted coin. The minted coin is a terrible, distorted, amateurish interpretation of the drawing. This is what I am talking about when I criticize this Mint. John W. be sure you take a look. These guys need a kick in the you know where, at least every day. Who would collect this crap?
