Hi Aidan,

South Cape Coins launched a Facebook fan page about 6 months ago and we're working at growing our numismatic community. Anyone is free to come and join us there and keep up to date with the latest news, Q&A's, blog posts, tips and advice etc. South Cape Coins deals exclusively in rare South African graded coins though we like to keep up to date with what's happening in the world of numismatics in general :)

Here's the link to our Facebook fan page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/South-Cape-Coins/209332529077352

Interested to see what other numismatic groups are out there.

Cheers,

Georgia

Personally, this is as far as I'm going to stick my neck out on social media concerning coin collecting. Joining coin groups on Facebook could be the biggest mistake you could make. There are a lot of robberies associated with people posting on FB that they will be on a trip, or away for the day. Some post's are automatically generated by smart phones, telling the world you are 70 miles from home. To also let a would be thief know that there could be a big score by victimizing you is beyond dumb.

I just closed my Facebook account a few weeks ago with no intention of using Facebook again. Everyone from employers and insurance companies to thieves and local police are using such accounts to judge you in one way or another.
