October 27, 2011 is going to be a very busy day for the Mint!  The 25th Anniversary Set will be released, and I'm certain that both their web site and phone lines will implode, lol!  I would assume that the usual time of 1200 hours will be the starting time for both avenues.  Good luck.

It appears pretty clear that they should have said highly blue lacquered hardwood box. I would have preferred to seen the wood but blue will do.

Blue will do but natural wood grain is the perfect contrast for precious metals IMO. Thanks for the info.

The product page is up on the Mint's website.  Here's the link for Thursday.

2011 American Eagle 25th Anniversary Silver Coin Set (A25)

Silver is going up, and the Mint is surely watching.  Hopefully it won't increase too much so as not to trigger a price increase.  Does anyone know the threshold?
I don't, but it seems like they ought to have enough margin built in to cover a little silver spot increase. $300 for 5 ounces and whatever the packaging and production costs are should still leave a healthy profit for the Mint even with silver going a few dollars higher.
MCM just sent me an e-mail to buy 5 sets for them, and they will pay me $60 profit for each set.  Even if I had the money, I don't think I would do it.  Seems to border on Fraud, and it certainly throws the 5 set limit out the window!  It should be a very interesting day on Thursday.

You should send the US Mint this notice. No wonder us small collectors have to pay these flippers profits. Bunch of BULLS--T.

Hi guys,

I'm building a blog : http://mukund-coincollection.blogspot.com its about commemorative coins of india and my collection

visit and help me build it better with your suggestions..!!

There is no fraud involved in making a profit on something.      Now if you sold it and did not deliver, that would be fraud or theft.  If it were fraud, then the mint would be guilty of fraud by making monster profits selling this item!

The only worry I have about this set is the packaging.  The only pictures I have seen, of the set,  seem to be housed in a blue fiberboard/cardboard box.  I do not see any wooden box as mentioned in the mint advertisment.

Maybe, since paper is made from wood,.........the mint could be planning on wrapping the set in old newspapers for delivery! LOL!

It could happen!!!!!!!

The only alleged fraud I see, is the amount of sets these company's will have to sell.  They had every swinging richard and hanging harriet calling in orders, which probably explains why so many true collectors will now have to buy from them, or other 3rd party sellers!  If the Mint would have put a one (1) set order limit, more people would of had a fair shot.
Speed dial and persistence!! Am i the only small fry that got my sets ordered??

No, I got mine through after only 184 re-dials!
