Beyond the 4 typical precious metals I also collect other metallic elements as a hobby and was wondering if anyone has any connections that could obtain 1 kg of iridium. The best any of my sources can manage is about 130 g so far.

I am thinking of creating a sculpture where iridium and magnesium are balanced in a way that defies logic.

But how can one recognise the iridium coin, tell us if you know, and upload them.

You might find iridium difficult to work with. It has a melting point of 2739K (4471F) (gold is 1337K, platinum is 2071K). Magnesium melts at only 923K (1202F). Of course if you aren't going to melt it or you have a major furnace, more power to you. Iridium is fairly rare, what of prices are you being quoted?
stick with lead!!!!

These are the guys I was talking with and would be handling the melting and forming as well. They are only a few hours from here so I would not even need it shipped, just make a day trip out of it.

Its been a while since I asked for a quote and since there has been a major correction between then and now I should check again, Ill let you know.
