Hi all,

I just picked up some more silver today and five of the rounds had Lady Liberty on the front in a stylized version of the Morgan Dollar and the reverse has a sort of sunburst pattern with "One Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver" in the center.

On the obverse, at a point that coincides exactly with the lower left portion of her neck and running diagonally to the upper right to the point where her neck, jaw line and hair meet is a jagged "line" where you can see that the die was obviously cracked. The crack starts at the very edge of the round and covers about 1/4 the diameter of the round. I'll try to post a scan later tonight.

I know that my fellow Americans will pay good money for fake dog turds and "pet rocks" so I have to ask if anyone pays a premium for this kind of defect on bullion rounds. If so, they are for sale. If nothing else they are a relatively inexpensive "example" of this kind of error on a pure silver round.

I can't think of ever hearing of anyone who collects errors on silver rounds at a premium, but I found this thread:

There probably are people who would pay premiums depending on the design, type of error, etc, but probably not a lot of people who do.
