To answer your question, yes these types of errors have a strong market in Canada. Unlike popular beleif these errors are much more common than people think. I Own vending machines and I get an off-struck toonie in the bins every few months or so, and I have around 6 sitting in my collection at the moment.
On ebay you can find people selling offstucks that are barely >8% off center. These are not errors because the Mint expects a little bit of overlap because the design is so close to the core. Somthing like the coin above with 40% overlap is what we consider a true error. (Overlap percentag is measured from the ege of the hole to the toonie rim)
Toonies with gaps in them are more popular than those without. this coin with an air-space can sell anywhere from $45-$150 Canadian. While one with no gap can expect (depending on the percentage offstruck) $10-45.
