I just ordered my 2010 Silver Proof Sets. I waited till now to order my regular proof sets as well, along with the mint sets. I think the 2010 Silver Proof Set will be a big WINNER this year. How do all of you feel on this issue?

It looks like the mint has decided to shift sale of annual sets to a calendar year schedule and the overflow of 2010 sets into 2011 is just a way of starting that process and makeing up for the late introduction this year. I expect them to go back to one year at a time at the start of 2012, especially because I think, like TM, that sets will be minted in a given quantity and sold until gone. This change means that a large supply of the annual sets will br minted before the year starts which means that all of the designs need to be in place at that time. There is one set that I have to believe won't be affected by this change and that is one that hasn't come out yet (so there is no assurance that it ever will) and that is the circulation strike set of ATB quarters. I don't see them selling this (currently subscription only) product before the last quarter for the year has had its official introduction.
I just wanted to share some info I came across on Coin Update, which I find to be a really useful source. This site (coin network) has links to their articles under coin news. Anyway, I agree they will probably not last until the end of next year, but I am pretty sure they will sell at least into the beginning of next year and maybe beyond. They started selling very late this year and sales numbers are way down compared to previous years. So I do not expect a sell out soon, and even if there were one, that does not ensure a strong secondary market price.
